Narrative
HOUSTON, TX – A male cyclist sustained injuries Tuesday when a hit-and-run driver struck him along a major roadway on the west side of Rice University.
The accident happened in the afternoon on University Boulevard near Wakeforest Avenue. This is just west of Rice Village.
Police say that a red pickup truck rear-ended the cyclist as he was riding along University Boulevard.
The cyclist, identified as Bellamy Kemp, sustained non-life-threatening injuries, which include a broken collarbone and a deep cut to the lip.
The driver of the pickup did not stop to render aid and speak with officials.
Authorities located the hit-and-run driver not long after the crash. It’s unclear if he will face charges.
