Narrative
HARTLEY CO., TX – A 34-year-old man died Thursday from injuries sustained in a major crash along the highway in Hartley County.
The accident happened around 1 p.m. on US-385 south of Channing and about an hour northwest of Amarillo.
Police say that a northbound 2010 Freightliner semi struck the side of 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 when the driver of the latter vehicle entered the highway without yielding right of way.
The driver of the Chevy, identified as George Acker of Dalhart, died at the scene of the wreck.
No other injuries have been reported in connection to the collision.
