Narrative

TYLER, TX – Two women died, and child was hospitalized after a collision involving a sedan and a pickup truck along the highway between Tyler and Kilgore.

The incident happened around 9:38 a.m. on Highway 31 at FM 757, which is just west of Trinity Fellowship Church and just south of Old Kilgore Highway.

The preliminary investigation indicates that an eastbound gray Honda Accent performed a U-turn on the highway and crossed in front of an eastbound Dodge Ram 3500. The two vehicles collided, killing the 59-year-old female driver of the Honda along with a 49-year-old female passenger. Authorities identified the victims as Margaret Reavis and Letha Frost.

Medics transported a 3-year-old child and the 26-year-old driver of the truck, identified as Ryan Wilcoxson, to the hospital with unspecified injuries. It’s unclear at this time if the child was a passenger in the Honda or the pickup truck.

The investigation is ongoing.
